Jane was known for her gracious style, thirst for knowledge, and sense of humor. She had many interests, including reading, the arts, and nature. Jane was a self-taught cook and seamstress, created beautiful hooked and braided rugs, quilts and custom clothing, and baked fabulous desserts for her family and friends. She especially treasured her retirement years in Winter Harbor and time with her husband sailing the coast of Maine. To her children she was a constant source of optimism, support, and love and throughout her entire life they saw her as an incredible mother and as a model human being.
The family will hold a private service in Winter Harbor. If desired, memorial donations could be made to The Winter Harbor Library, Winter Harbor, ME 04693 or to a charity of one's choice." - The Hartford Courant, October 31, 2004
