Eleanor Lucille Clark was born in 1907 to Roderick Pepper and Grace Clark (Carroll) Clark in Southwest Harbor, Maine. Eleanor married Herbert Mortimer Gesner Jr., son of Herbert Mortimer and Louise Gesner, on July 15, 1934 in Southwest Harbor, Maine. Her son, Clark Gesner, was the composer and lyricist of "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown."

Eleanor Lucille (Clark) Gesner died on September 4, 1998 in Brewster, Massachusetts.
