Thomas Andrew “T.A.” McIntire was born in March, 1869 to Angus McIntire, a sea captain, and Eva May (Wood) McIntire in Bath, Maine. Thomas, a carpenter, married Nellie May Coburn (1871-), a music teacher, on August 21, 1893 in Anson, Maine. L.B. Twitchett performed the ceremony. Nellie, born in Sangerville (Parkman), Maine, was the daughter of Joshua Lemuel Coburn and his third wife, Ellen E. (Palmer) Coburn.

The McIntires had four children:
Miles Milton McIntire (05/20/1898-1949)- married Lucy A. Reed, a waitress, daughter of Edwin J. Reed and Jessie M. Tibbets
Marion McIntire (05/25/1902-)
Louise Elizabeth McIntire (11/25/1909-)
Edith May McIntire (04/01/1913-) - married Edmund Harrison Kimball (1906-1952), son of Clarence A. Kimball and Abbie E. Wood.
