George Arthur Neal was born in 1872 to Dr. Elias C. and Evelyn (Wilder) Neal. George graduated from the Baltimore Medical College in 1905. He married Bertha C. Murphy, daughter of Albion and Hannah E. (Latty) Murphy on June 1, 1910 in Southwest Harbor, Maine. George Arthur Neal died in 1939 in Southwest Harbor. Bertha C. (Murphy) Neal died in 1968.
Doctor and photographer George Arthur Neal was a third cousin once removed to author Thornton Niven Wilder, famous for writing, among other works, the play, Our Town. George and Thornton both descended from Captain Theophilus Wilder II (1740-1821) and Lydia Cushing (1745-1811) of Dennysville (Pembroke), Maine.
