Ebed Wilder Neal was born on March 26, 1879 in Augusta, Maine. He attended the Yale School of Fine Arts in 1897-1898 and was listed as an artist in the 1900 Census. By 1910 he had moved with his mother, Evelyn M. (Wilder) Neal, to Thayer, Nebraska, where he was a farmer in 1910, a self-employed garage worker when drafted for WWI in September of 1918, and a farmer again by 1920. He died on April 10, 1950. Ebed Wilder Neal is buried with the rest of his family at Mt. Height Cemetery in Southwest Harbor.
