Mary J. Ray was born to William Henry Ray (1829-1881) and Comfort Kingsbury Stanley (1829-1892) on January 20, 1860 in Tremont, Maine. She married William Ward King (1853-1942), son of Rufus King and Margaret Ward, on September 28, 1881 in Southwest Harbor, Maine. They had two children; Wallace Everett King (1888-1922), and Lottie Rea King (1890-1957). Mary died on January 28, 1941 in Southwest Harbor, Maine.
