Emily M. Ray was born on February 20, 1854 to William H. Ray and Comfort K. (Stanley) Ray in Castine, Maine. She married Nahum Haynes on June 18, 1904 in Trenton, Maine. Emily Haynes died on August 10, 1913 in Southwest Harbor and is buried at Mount Height Cemetery.
