Linwood A. Ginn was born on February 16, 1932 to Marion Edna Ginn (later Mrs. Fred L. Stevens Jr.) in Bar Harbor, Maine. Linwood was raised by his maternal grandparents, Arthur Edward Ginn (1889-1964) and Inez Myrtle Torrey (1887-1953). He first married Nancy Ann Willet (1931-1994), daughter of Joshua T. Willet Jr. and Barbara Maud Silsby, on November 27, 1954 in Bar Harbor, Maine. Linwood married second Jane Arden Butler (1936-2006), daughter of Francis J. Butler, on September 1, 1965 and third Beverly L. (Johnson) Dow Tate Seavey, daughter of Bernard W. Johnson and Florence McKeown. Linwood A. Ginn died on May 7, 2012.

HANCOCK - Linwood A. Ginn, 80, went to be with the Lord May 7, 2012. Linwood was born Feb. 16, 1932, in Bar Harbor, the son of Marion Edna Ginn. He grew up in Manset with his grandparents and attended Manset and Southwest Harbor Grammar School and Pemetic High School. In 1947 Linwood worked at Ray Billings Sawmill, Seawall, and Stanley Fish Wharf, Manset, until entering the U.S. Army in 1952. In 1953 he was deployed to Korea until October 1954. In November 1954, he married Nancy Willett in Bar Harbor and together had two sons. In 1965 he was married to Jane Arden Butler until her death in 2006. Linwood made his career as a civilian employee of the U.S. Coast Guard, maintaining buoys and lighthouses, retiring after 30 years of service. He also held membership in the Franklin Veterans' Club, Trenton American Legion and Franklin Baptist Church. Linwood is survived by his loving wife, Beverly; two sons, Thomas and James Ginn and their wives; stepchildren, Debbie Seavey and Martin Seavey and family; sisters, Hazel Oliver and Shirley Wing; brothers, Fredrick, Dale and John Stevens; five grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He is also survived by Beverly's two daughters, Vicki and Pamela; son, Bernie; five grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. At Linwood's request, there will be no funeral service. Instead a memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, May 19, at Franklin Baptist Church, Franklin.
