Donald C. Keigher was born c. 1900 to Thomas N. Keigher and Mary Keigher in New Jersey. Thomas N. Keigher Sons Inc. was apparently a large plumbing company and Donald worked with his father. His wife, Alice E. Keigher, was born c. 1901.
Capt. Donald C. Keigher owned and operated a boarding house at (probably at 713) Ashley Avenue in Brielle, New Jersey across the street from the Manasquan River Yacht Basin and Brielle Yacht Basins, to accommodate his sports fishing customers. The “Alice K” photographed by Ballard was probably not his first “Alice K” nor his last.
