Dorinda Robinson was born in 1843 to Smith Robinson Jr. (1819-1885) and Sarah “Sally” (Whitmore) Robinson (1823-1850) in Southwest Harbor, Maine. Dorinda was Abigail “Argo” (Whitmore) Robinson’s niece, as Dorinda’s mother, Sarah Whitmore, was Abigail’s sister. Dorinda was also the niece of Abigail “Argo” (Whitmore) Robinson’s husband James E. Robinson, as Dorinda’s father, Smith Robinson Jr., was the brother of James E. Robinson.
