Andrew Harmon Herrick (1897-1992) was born on May 23, 1897 to William Edgar Herrick and Fannie Carnes (Harmon) Herrick in Tremont, Maine. Andrew married Hulda Mae Hodgkins (1907-1983), daughter of Burtelle T. Hodgkins and Grace (Rowe) Hodgkins, on October 20, 1992. Andrew Harmon Herrick died on July 30, 1992 in Bar Harbor, Maine.
Andrew enlisted in the Army on May 22, 1918. He served overseas at Meuse-Argonne from August 22, 1918 to May 24, 1919. He was discharged from the army on June 11, 1919 as a Private, Battery "C" in the 124th Field Artillery. Andrew’s Southwest Harbor neighbor, Millard Eugene Norwood (1896-1918) for whom the Eugene Norwood Square is named, died in the Toul Sector, Argonne Forest, Romagne (Meuse) on October 28, 1918.
