Annabelle E. Robbins was born on March 4, 1928 to Clifford F. Robbins and Ethel Raymond (Dunbar) Robbins in Ayer, Massachusetts. Anabelle E. Robbins died on October 29, 2008 in Brewer, Maine.
She was the great granddaughter of Capt. Howard P. Robbins
“Manset and Bucksport – Annabelle E. Robbins, 80, died Oct. 29, 2008, at a health care facility in Brewer. Annabelle was born March 4, 1928, in Ayer, Mass., to Clifford F. and Ethel R. (Dunbar) Robbins. Annabelle graduated from Bangor High School in 1945. She then graduated in 1949 from Tufts College, Medford, Mass., with a Bachelor of Science degree in pre-med.
Annabelle owned and operated Seawall Dining Room, Manset, from 1959 to 2000. In 1982 she added the motel. She also started the Acadia Information Center, Trenton, in 1994 and operated it until 2006. She was extensively involved in the Southwest Harbor Chamber of Commerce starting in 1960s. She had been a member of the Mount Desert Island Regional Chamber of Commerce for 10 years. Annabelle was also a member serving from 2000 to 2008 and past board president from 2000 to 2001 of the Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce. As a civic-minded person she served on Southwest Harbor Board of Selectman for 21 years. She also served on the following state boards in Augusta: Legislative Policy Committee for 10 years, Legislative Executive Committee for two years and Legislative Advisory Committee for two years.
