Joanna Mayo was born on October 8, 1815 to Isaac Pepper and Rosanna (Young) Mayo in Southwest Harbor, Maine. Joanna Mayo was the sister of Jacob Schoppy Mayo (1818-1912), patriarch of much of the Mayo clan in Southwest Harbor. Joanna married Samuel Lurvey Jr. (1817-1893), son of Samuel and Abigail (Gilley) Lurvey c. 1835. Joanna (Mayo) Lurvey died on March 30, 1907 in Southwest Harbor.
