Marguerite S. King was born on August 21, 1882 to Merrill Baxter King (1845-1930) and Ella M. (Tower) King (1851-) in Tremont, Maine. Her father was a “Sea Captain” and a “fisherman.” The family lived in Belmont, Massachusetts by the time this photograph was taken, where Marquerite attended Belmont High School. She later taught sewing and dressmaking in various Boston schools until at least 1940. She never married.
Marguerite grew up in her father, Merrill Baxter King's house.
