Charles Everett Bee was the son of Albert II, who kept stationery stores in Bar Harbor and Southwest Harbor, where he had a summer home.
The Bees were an enterprising family. Albert I was famous for his early pioneering in the Gold Fields of California, while his brother championed the rights of Chinese workers on the railroads there.
Charles Everett Bee, like his brother, Albert III, became an engineer, taught science in Gresham, Oregon, and practiced engineering.
