Walter Eugene Higgins (1918-2010) was born on January 31, 1918 to Frederick Walter Higgins and Beulah B. (Smith) Higgins in Tremont, Maine. Walter married Leola M. Pomroy (1924-2012), daughter of Milton Lee Pomroy and Velma A. (Murphy) Pomroy on December 14, 1941 in Tremont. Walter Eugene Higgins died on April 9, 2010.
Walter was a patrolman in the 1st Naval District for $1,850 per year. He could have continued in 1945 for the Civil Service, but chose to go to work at a boat yard instead.
