Judge Alfred Johnson (1789-1852), son of Rev. Alfred Johnson (1766-1837), one of the founders of Bowdoin College, was a member of the Convention, which, in 1819, framed the Constitution of the State of Maine taking a prominent part in the deliberations. He purchased the house on Church Street (SWHPL 13029) in 1839.
