This “Rockland” is not to be confused with the later steamer “City of Rockland.”
"Rockland" was built at Hoboken, New Jersey, in 1853 and owned by Francis Cobb and others of Rockland, Maine. She made her first trip on August 21, 1854, commanded by Captain E.S. Blaisdell.
