Luther S. Phillips became a well-known mapmaker and established an extensive postcard business. He Copyrighted his Map of Mount Desert Island on July 25, 1932.
After Luther’s death in 1960, his brother, Augustus Dewey Phillips, took over the map and postcard business.
Augustus’ son, Donald Beekman Phillips (1935-2009) then continued the enterprise.
